DIY Lemonade and Sunshine

Party Recap

My daughter wanted something different for her 5th birthday and since she is a summer baby, we decided to have a Lemonade and Sunshine Party. I designed this party with the intentions of making it DIY. From the cake to the pinwheels, everything was made by me to show that anyone is able to create a stylish display.

As I started to brainstorm, I turned to Pinterest for ideas and tutorials. I knew I wanted a lemonade stand, and since I have absolutely no carpentry skills, begged my brother-in-law for help. The chicken wire frame was inspired by a picture on Pinterest, but instead of hanging notes and to do’s, I chose to display the favors on it. I purchased wooden spoons for the cupcake jars and decorated them with coordinating colors. Also included on the dessert table were strawberry lemonade cupcakes, cupcakes in a jar, meringues, lemon cookies, sunshine cookie pops, and meringue parfaits. I made functioning pinwheels for the kids to play with as well.

Below I have included the sites that were essential in helping make this party a reality:
Strawberry Lemonade Cupcakes:
Meringue Parfaits:
Lemonade Stand:
Chicken Wire Memo Board:

There was one dessert that was not created by me, but instead by the lovely ladies of Cake Pop Fusion, They created lemonade cake pops complete with straws…. too cute!
