Party Recap

We threw a small birthday party for my son Noah's 2nd Birthday. Our condo is small so I tried to keep it simple. He loves everything that has to do with music and one of his favorite things to do w/ his dad is to watch music videos on Youtube. So I decided to throw a nightclub themed party mixed by DJ No-No. I planned the party two weeks in advance and again, just kept it very simple. Overall, the kids had a blast! When they arrived they were greeted by security (our older son) and were given VIP passes (lanyards) and had their hands stamped w/ a stamp that said Thanks G. As they arrived they took pictures on the red carpet, then ate in the VIP area where we served concession style food. Our banquette served as the VIP booth. My husband also created a small bar from an old dresser hutch we picked up for free. He cut off the bottom of it, painted it, and added a multi-color bulb that constantly changed colors. We served kid friendly drinks including fruit punch cosmos, jello shots, rainbow martinis (sprite and kool-aid ice cubes) and water. On the lower shelves I placed favors including shutter glasses, bubble microphones, and swag bags (goody bags). My husband also made a "turntable" from our older sons wrestling ring and we set it up next to our laptop on a small table to represent the DJ booth. Behind the DJ booth was a stage backdrop. We played music off of YT and our disco ball rotated and lit up according to the beat of the music. We wore black staff/security shirts which I painted w/ an Elmer's paint marker. As for the games they were all music related including limbo, freeze dance, and hot potato. We also had a small pull-string piñata. In the end, the only thing I forgot to set out were the food/drink labels bc I was running a little behind, but I think it all turned out great.
