My daughter asked for a birthday party with an Egyptology theme this year--best theme ever, as far as this English and Anthropology major mama is concerned! We had so much fun creating the decor, an archaeological dig in the backyard, making paper, and so much more.
Chocolate cake with salted caramel buttercream, marzipan pyramids, sugar cookies, dates, mummified oreos, buried peanut butter treasures.
Activities / Games
Glitter tattoos and hair tinsels, Sphinx photo op, toilet paper mummy contests, paper making, archaeological dig.
Glitter tattoos, hair tinsel, excavated treasures (necklaces, coins, bracelets, potsherds, scarabs, Egyptian figurines). The kids also got to keep their shovels.
What People Ate
Pizza made in our wood-fired oven. Bacon, Date, and goat cheese streudel. Hummus and pita bread.
What People Drank
Gift of the Nile (water) and Egyptian Elixir (punch). Adults were also offered wine or beer (Pyramid brand!).
