Party Recap

When our client in Bel Air, CA reached out to ask us if we could plan a fairytale princess tea party for her soon-to-be 5-year-old daughter, we were thrilled to help. But when she added that she wanted "the works" -- a beautiful tent complete with decorative drapes, whimsical iced sugar cookies, and two storybook princesses to lead an interactive performance (not to mention a full tea party service) -- we were elated!

We got to work right away, picking out fabrics and decor in the color scheme (lavender, carnation pink, and sky blue). We made custom drapes for the tent using an entire bolt of fabric we procured (after more than 3 hours of searching!), crafted make-believe storybooks as part of the table decor, spray-painted and decorated mason jars to hold the iced sugar cookie pops, and customized decorative bird cages with silk flowers and faux pearls.

Our dessert baker whipped up these incredible iced sugar cookies (shaped like tea cups, tea pots, glass slippers, and tiaras) using the color scheme, as well as the tastiest iced lemon tea cakes.

We also provided lunch catering for the children: they were able to choose from toasted Nutella, heart-shaped turkey & cheddar, and flower-shaped strawberry jam & sunflower butter sandwiches, and also ate apples & berries from colorful skewers.

Of course, there was "tea", too! Our Lady-in-Waiting served the children chilled, organic pink lemonade from our English-garden style tea pots. Lunch plates, tea cups, and saucers in mis-matched vintage styles, as well as pink napkins, paper-lace doilies and golden tea spoons completed the table settings.

And if that wasn't enough fun, our princesses Rapunzel & Cinderella led a variety of interactive activities throughout their performance. There were dancing lessons, a "magical" game, enchanted spells (with a surprise gift for our celebrant!), storytelling, and sparkling face-painting, too.

We were so thrilled with the way everything turned out; it was truly a fairytale dream, one that we wish we could have every day!
