Party Recap

Party Details:
This is our sweet Woodland Fairy Party, which I designed to celebrate my daughter’s third birthday. The printables used from our Woodland Fairy party printable collection include; invitations, Happy Birthday Banner, Cupcake Toppers and Wraps, Water Bottle wraps, paper straw Flags, Welcome Sign, 3” Party Circles (favors), Food Tent Labels and Thank you Cards.

I am so blessed to have a best friend and a sister, who happens to be an award winning photographer, on the set with me. Christine Moody (Trimood Photography) has done a brilliant job of capturing every last magical detail!

Seen in the images, I had two custom cakes made. The mushroom Birthday cake, was for the birthday girl, at the sweets table. This cake was to emulate the magical feel for all things fairy…adorned with mushroom meringues and simple green and pink detail to match the party colors (Carnival Cakes and Sweets). The second cake (Oven Monkey Bakery) was specifically made to go on the “tea party” table and was created to match one of the Persnickety outfits worn by Emmery’s friend Neve. You can see the pink and gold ruffle detail, simply precious! The mushroom sugar cookies (Oven Monkey Bakery) were created to emulate our invitation design and continues the mushroom theme – super yummy!

The yellow cupcakes (Simply Sweet Cupcakes) were adorned with adorable fondant butterflies (Lynlee’s Petite Cakes) and snatched up quicker than you can say fly away butterfly….

I love to bake, but I am really somewhat green in creating delectable treats…Still, I tried my hand at the chocolate covered marshmallow wands. With a little yellow food coloring in the chocolate, yellow sugar crystals and Lynlee’s adorable fondant butterflies, it was quite simple and easy to make, but really provided that impact with the mini cupcake liners to mimic fairyland flowers. I also decorated brownies to look like butterflies and topped them off with royal icing and white sugar crystals…both of these treats were simple to create, which is good for someone who may not be a master of sweets.

Now let’s chat about these adorable little outfits, provided by Persnickety Clothing Company. An amazing little company out of Utah, Persnickety is full of fancy little frocks perfect for every little girl! The color palette is breathtaking and the combination of textures and pattern are ingenious!

This party was so much fun in creating all of the pretty little decorations to complete this magical fairyland. First, I spent many long hours creating the fabric garland you see on the welcome table. It pulls out every color in my printable design and was very simple to make. If you have the time, it is completely worth it. The two butterfly chandeliers, which flank the sweets table, was another project that was well worth the time. Inspired from Pottery Barn Kids, these butterfly chandeliers were made with love and TONS of patience!

Now, let’s not forget to mention these gorgeous pieces of furniture. When I got in touch with Vintage Ambience, a local company to Seattle Washington, I could not believe the pieces she has collected over the years. From the iron gates you see for the backdrop, to the sweet table, to the fairy dust table….these pieces really complimented the decorative detail quite nicely. You will definitely see her pieces in my upcoming events!

For the fairy dust table (my parting gifts), I wanted to send the guests home with something fun, but also useful. I filled mini flower pots with chocolate covered sunflower seeds, to mimic fairy seeds. I also filled mini cork jars with “fairy dust” (aka glitter and white sand) and then made the tulle poms wands. The wands are actually paper straws topped with tulle poms I made, so simple and so sweet! The table sign reads, “Plant Me, Feed Me, Grow Me”, with the idea being that they can “plant” the seeds, sprinkle with magic fairy dust, tap with their magic fairy wands and watch them grow! The girls loved the idea and when they get home, they can actually plant something in their mini-flower pot!
