Party Recap

I discovered this rustic springhouse in the forest near my house and knew it would be the perfect location for a spooky Halloween party! My goal was to create magical Halloween inspiration with attainable details that others can use. When I found amethyst light purple watercolor and rose gold cups I was inspired to make that my color scheme. The mossy stone building and forest backdrop came alive with all the colorful details.

The custom light purple, bat, rose gold, black, cream and light orange balloon garland from Oh How Charming instantly added magic to the space. Next I hung a whimsical “Hey Boo” wood bead tassel banner from Rusty Chic Décor. To the left of the door I made a driftwood wall hanging with dyed cheesecloth and metallic bat fabric.

Layered jute rugs cozied the space up and allowed a place for guests to eat. The table was covered with black creepy cloth. I created the centerpiece by dyeing pampas grass orange and purple and displaying it in a rattan and black vase. I followed @allisonsextoninteriors tutorial for dyeing the pampas grass. I love to incorporate activities into the party so I printed festive coloring sheets from JandeSummer and turned them into a placemat. The center of the table had ‘spooky’ letter crayons from Pop of Gold. The most adorable kitty plates, ghost napkins and chic black cutlery completed the place setting.

Fairytale pumpkins, leaves and lanterns cascaded the stone steps. Above the steps I hung a kitty mylar balloon, Halloween and tassel banner. I turned the edge of the steps into a food table by draping black spider web fabric and hanging a wood bead tassel garland from Rusty Chic Décor. I set out popcorn in hand painted bags with Halloween motif, candycorn in a gumball machine, pumpkin spice white chocolate pretzels, and cupcakes from Dia Doce Bakery. Cupcake flavors included apple doodle, oatmeal crème pie, chocolate, and pumpkin cinnabon. They were displayed with a resin bat, boo letters and dyed purple dried fern. A hand painted acrylic sign read “no tricks just treats” and was paired with a painted ghost palm. Mini witches brooms were made with wood dowels and raffia ribbon.

A large skeleton handed out party favors including spider and bat chocolate, and a wood Halloween craft mask tied with eyelash yarn. The location was absolutely perfect for a fall get together and all the details made this feel like guests were immersed in a real Halloween fairytale.
