Evelyn's Vintage Carnival + Circus!
ByParty Recap
Being the daughter of an event planner & photographer has its perks! My youngest daughter, Evelyn, turned 2 in style! Her love for carnivals and the circus sparked this vintage theme. The color scheme was yellow, and blue with a red and white stripe accent. The invitation was so much fun to create! I made the front a vintage style and for the back I took my daughter to a local carnival and took some photos of her having a total blast. One of my favorite party items to make for birthdays is a Milestone Board - it is such a wonderful memory to look back on years after the party in the pictures to see what your child loved/did at that age. My husband made a lions cage to fit under the cake table - it held the cutest life-size lion! We had red and white striped wooden carnival booths set up with various carnival games for the kiddos. A fitness hoop lined with red, yellow and orange crepe paper cut into hanging strips served as our "ring of fire" for the kids to jump through. A mini popcorn stand with little bags and scoopers let our little guests make their own bags of caramel corn and cheesy popcorn. I think one of my favorite details of the party was the glass bucket of red clown noses - the kids AND the adults loved to wear them in the photobooth area and around the party! The gift favors were little bags of animal crackers that I had decorated with frosting and sprinkles. I just love how everything turned out and how much fun everyone had celebrating my little ring leader :-)
