Party Recap

My husband and I have birthdays around the same time of year and have an annual fiesta (to remind us of our honeymoon) with our families to celebrate.

My color scheme was inspired from napkins I bought from Crate and Barrel. I also bought turquoise glasses, and gerber daisy napkin rings from Crate and Barrel. I used brightly colored lime green and yellow tablecloths . For the tablescape, I used turquoise chargers and placed a jeweled butterfly place card holder at each place setting. I put a brightly striped
table runner on the table. The metal lanterns fromShopwildthings Inc. were spray painted yellow for a more vibrant feel. Colored jars and vases were filled with purple spider mums, red gerber daisies, bear grass and yellow stock. I made a multicolored ribbon chandelier (I used this tutorial:http://projectnursery.com/2010/05/diy-ribbon-chandelier-tutorial/) and added pink and purple sparkly butterflies. From the ceiling hung paper lanterns from Luna Bazzar in various colors and sizes.

A multicolored tissue paper banner hung from my banister. On the fireplace mantel were pink, blue, and yellow votives and candleholders with gerber daisies attached to them. Each female guest got a flower crown as a favor that I hung from the fireplace. Each male guest received a sombrero and maracas were given out as well. Little sombreros hung from a curly willow tree. Oversized margarita glasses were filled with multicolored jelly beans and m&ms. The food was typical of a fiesta with burritos, enchiladas, guacamole, mexican rice, and black beans. Food labels were also held with the jeweled butterfly place card holders. Sangria was served as the drink of the night. Cupcakes with pinwheels from Etsy seller: A Party Studio were served for dessert.
