Party Recap...
Gavin was very happy to choose airplanes for the theme of his party. I love having parties at my house, that adds more causal and relaxed filling to celebration, especially considering that kids want to always stay extra few hours to play.I love making decorations from re-purposed materials. This time, I made paper airplane garlands out of old magazines, kids had a blast helping me with this project. Also I cut out airplanes from cardboard boxes for craft time, kids loved decorating them with stickers, markers, paper. A night before, I made about 300 cookies shaped as airplanes, helicopters and clouds, that was a part of goodie bags gifts. As I was decorating them my kids suggested to use it for a pastry craft during the party..well, it was one excellent idea. All the little guests truly loved decorating those cookies. Another great activity that was super easy, waste-free and absolutely delicious. Besides that, we spend a lot of time folding paper airplanes that zoomed all the time through the party. Big finale was airplane cake that I made using two cakes - vanilla and chocolate , all covered in cheese cream frosting .
