Party Recap...
We know, we're a bit obvious...but my son "Hunter",...had a "Hunting" themed party. It was just too easy to use the pun there, and so my husband and I ran with this idea for a party. We had a great time at Antler Ring Toss, pin the tail on the Buck, and eating yummy treats. Most the decorations were an easy find, because my hubby already Hunts. We used all of his camo gear anywhere we could, used a couple of empty shotgun shells here and there, fall decorations, and lots of camo and orange. We used a deer blind for the table cloths, and made a tree stand for Hunter, by creating a tree in the middle of the room out of brown paper and four leaf garlands, hung just right to make it look like a tree. We surrounded the room with animal stuffed animals, Deer, squirrels, rabbits, or pretty much anything with antlers. And my mother in law made Hunter a little orange shooting vest, out of felt, and we topped it off with a camo onesie, and a camo hat. He was ready for the party! What a fun time we all had!
Party Highlights
Best Moment
When everybody came through the door...and saw the tree stand in the middle of the room. It really shocked everybody. And they LOVED Hunter's outfit. My husband and I also wore hunting vests, and our camo hats to get into the spirit.
Funniest Moment
When Hunter tore into his first cake. He made the cutests little faces! It was messy, but sure adorable!
What People Ate
"Deer Feed" - Roasted corn with fall colored M&M's,
What People Drank
Pop, bottled water with camo tape around it.
Dessert
Cake and icecream, and cookies.
Activities / Games
We used some antler's we found out at the farm that had fallen off a buck, layed them on the ground and found brass rings, and played ring toss with antlers. We played pin the tail on the buck, and enjoyed watching the kids rock in the rockin' truck with a deer attached to the back of the truck. We also used deer calls, for party blowers. It was alot of fun!
Budget
$100.00, but we were really lucky to have most the props already.
Party Favors
I found these adorable "Antler" hats they were selling at Michaels for Christmas...it was fall, but they were selling them early. The children all had antlers to wear, and the adults got to take home bags of deer feed.
