Party Recap
Granny’s Easter Garden Party
Is there anything more delightful than lunch at grandma's right before an Easter egg hunt in the garden?
What if it's followed by games and outside playing, a reading session by your grandma's side and tons of fun?
In the present days, where children are plugged in the digital world, we feel the need to show them how interacting with the outside environment and with loved ones may transform a simple family gathering into a special date to remember long after.
Given the opportunity to spice up Easter lunch at grandma's house, I created a fun scenario in her garden with a table for sweets surrounded by a host of Easter bunnies.
I included some chocolate candy in the dessert table, such as Milk Chocolate Brigadeiro (a sweet made of condensed milk, butter and semi-sweet chocolate powder, molded into small round-shaped pieces), essential to every Brazilian party. I also included White Chocolate Brigadeiro, a variation of the original, Maria Mole (a soft coconut-flavored marshmallow), and sugar cookies placed on a stick. Following a typical Brazilian Easter tradition, there were also large chocolate Easter eggs for each child.
Throughout the party, the children were also able to participate in an Easter Egg hunt, as well as storytime with grandma for entertainment.
The kids and their grandmother had fun at dusk, enjoying a nice reading circle. As the sweet grandmother read, she sipped her hot tea, calmly enjoying her grandchildren, sitting wide-eyed by her side. It was a precious moment to be kept safely in everyone's memory.
