Party Recap...
We wanted Heather's baby shower to be modern with a touch of silly. Color was a must. Our brother-in-law was kind enough to clear our his family room to give us a great party space (I even made him take down the curtains). In the end, the party was the perfect way to celebrate the arrival of baby Crew.
Party Highlights
Funniest Moment
Our Photo Booth provided a lot of silly shots that quickly spread through various social media sites.
What People Ate
The menu was kept pretty simple...wraps & salads. We didn't want to have the oven on with that many people in the house (we are in Florida afterall). The Mommy-to-be had been craving chicken salad from a local deli so we let them do the catering.
What People Drank
Just because the guest of honor couldn't drink, didn't stop the rest of us. Red and white wines were served along with a champagne punch. For non-alcoholic options, there was a sherbet preggers punch and a of selection of "The Pop Shoppe" soda pops which went great with our circus theme.
Dessert
The dessert table included a variety of cupcakes, whoopie pies, macaroons, cake & oreo pops and animal crackers. The centerpieces doubled as cotton candy holders (cotton candy tip - keep it wrapped up. I learned the hard way how quickly it drys out).
Activities / Games
For one of the games, we staged a relay race using a child's shape sorter toy. After a few cocktails, it wasn't as easy as some had remembered.
Party Favors
We used red & white striped cupcake boxes from Oriental Trading to send everyone home with a treat.
