Party Recap

Both my father and my brother had circus themed 3rd birthday parties so, although I wanted to have this party last year, I knew I had to keep the tradition going so I waited until his birthday this year and so glad I did!

Our family and friends had Big Top fun at this 3-ring Circus event!

Party Highlights

  • Best Dressed

I so appreciate anyone and everyone who wears anything themed to our parties! One of my good friends wore a bright orange sweater although she typically only wears black so that made me smile.

  • Desserts

Popcorn cupcakes. The recipe is easy to find online. Vanilla cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, marshmallows pinched with scissors to give them the look of real popcorn and spraying lightly with yellow food coloring.

  • Activities / Games

My son's school kindly agreed to let us use some old carnival games they had. My husband led all the games including spin-for-a-prize and picking winning ducks from the small inflatable pool. We purchased the prizes from our nearby $1 store.

  • Party Favors

Real goldfish presented in small jars with red and white gingham lids with fun circus-themed "thank you" tags. We gave each guest a small bag of fish food too.

  • Best Moment

Right before bed I asked my son if he enjoyed his day. A smile slowly crept across his face and he broke out into a huge grin. Words didn't even have to be spoken. :)

  • What People Ate

Animalwiches, Carnival Fruit Medley, High Wire Hot Dogs (pigs in a blanket), Popcorn Cupcakes and a variety of fun candy--rainbow suckers, ring pops, animal crackers, popcorn and Circus Peanuts.

  • Funniest Moment

Walking by the small circus tent we purchased from Ikea. We had placed it on top of a circular couch in our den. All I could see were kids jumping in it and popcorn flying EVERYWHERE!

  • Team Effort

I could not have pulled this off without the enormous help of my mom, my babysitter extraordinaire Kathleen and two friends--Gaina and Stephanie. THANK YOU ladies!
