Ice Cream Parlor Party

Party Recap

I threw this party for my daughter’s 6th birthday. She loves sweets, especially ice cream. I began my inspiration search on all the party blogs. As soon as I saw the cake and favors from one charming party, I knew I would go with that theme and add my own creativity to the mix. I then started by creating an ice cream parlor shop logo to be used throughout the party. From there I designed the rest of the party using the colors from the logo. I bought ribbon from Michaels (all of it was on sale! Yippie!) and fell in love with the pom pom ball garland that they had. I made ribbon curtains on either side of the doors as well as the fireplace framing the pic of my daughter. I found a tutorial for the super cute tulle pom pom balls at momdot.com. and added them to sugar cones to create a chandelier above the ice cream sundae table.
The favors were one of my favorite party elements. I bought the ice cream containers from Sweet Bliss Containers on Amazon. I used the party logo for the top and added a ribbon and spoon. Inside was an ice cream cone sugar cookie, ice cream lip balm, M&M’s (my daughter’s favorite) and some Baskin Robbins Mint Chocolate Chip hard candies. My step-dad built the awning that would go over the sweets table. We added material from Joanns and cut out the scallops. We also made our own make-shift awning using a roll of fax paper that we cut scallops from and added pink and white 8.5 x 11 paper for the stripes. (you can see this in the background of the picture with the chandelier) The cake was made by my mom and copied from a cake by One Charming Party (thank you!). I made the cookies, cake pops and homemade ice cream sandwiches.

Hi there! Your party looks stunning! My daughter is also an ice cream lover so she requested an ice cream themed bday. I was wondering how you attached the tulle poms to the ice cream cone? Thanks!! Jill

Hi Jill, I attached the tulle to the cone using hot glue. Just glue the inside of the cone and place the tulle ball on top. :)
