Party Recap

I’m still in MAJOR shock that my little boy turned nine this month. Seems like yesterday he was eight? This is a kid that just LOVES baseball, so of course, I had to put together a baseball birthday party!

We pulled out ALL the stops for this themed party! Including hiring a guy with a hot dog cart, a giant “sponsor” banner for the backstop and the biggest vat of bubble gum I’ve ever seen. Take a look at some of these photos, and I’ll share more details in a bit- like who made those desserts! Oh, and before I forget – all the sports photography was done by my sister (no, my other sister) Sarah. She worked her butt off to get these shots and at the end of the party, needed a shower more than any kid!

Amazing. An EPIC party that will not soon be forgotten. We figured that the kids played ball for 3 and a half hours – with 2 little breaks to grab a dog and to sing happy birthday. Some of the kids came dressed in their full little league gear, some came in flip flops. EVERYONE had a great time, even the grandparents who were sitting in the shade cheering.

Now, lets talk details. I admit, I didn’t make the desserts. The Pushcakes® and Apple Pie bars came from Kristin at Meringue Bake Shop, and the baseball Cake Balls came from Roni at Roni’s Sugar Creations. We stuffed our faces until there was not a crumb of sweets left! The party favor candies came from Marie at Sweets Indeed – so easy on the budget, so cute! The vinyl “sponsor” banner was printed at Iconography Studios, and I can get one for you too if ya ask nice. All those printable decorations came from the fabulous people at Paper & Cake – oh, that’s me! So if you need some non-cutesie Vintage Baseball decor, we’ve got you covered!
