Party Recap
My son James is obsessed with Race Cars, so there was no question what we would use as a theme for his Fifth Birthday party! I found great printables from HH Paper Company on Etsy and focused on using lots and lots of checkered flags and red accents for the decorations. My husband scored MAJOR points by building an awesome racetrack, and we had the kids select cars and decorate them before the big event. We also got them good and hungry with a few games of red light/green light!
After lunch of pizza, "dip sticks" (crudites and ranch in party cups), and "Nuts and Bolts" (snack mix in party cups), the kids indulged their sweet tooths (sweet teeth?) with cake, "Winner's Circle" mini cupcakes, "Speedy" Sugar cookies, "Spare Tires" (chocolate donuts), and whirly pops. Thirsty racers drank "Pit Crew Punch". Guests left with more sugar cookies, whirly pops, and, of course, checkered flags!
We had such a great time, and I loved seeing how happy my son was to celebrate with his friends! However, the sweetest moment came after the party was over, when we celebrated the birthday of James's special Rabbit. The anniversary of his arrival in our home happened to fall on the day of the party. How I love that boy!
