Party Recap

For Jaxon's first birthday, I chose a Circus party theme and decided to have some fm with it since he was too young to decide what theme he wanted. We had it at our local fire department that has a pavilion and park and it was HOT. We hired a magician to do the party and after his show, he made balloon animals for the kids. For food we grilled hot dogs. We put them in buns and wrapped them individually in foil before the party so the guests could just pick one and put their own toppings on them. It was a huge success and worth the extra time. We also had a popcorn machine and a cute metal tub that divided peanuts and animal crackers. We set up a few plastic tubs as well for chips and cotton candy. For a cooler, we used a kiddy pool! Me and my mom made the cake and cupcakes ourselves and dressed them up with sprinkles and animal crackers. We made our treat bags inside of cheap popcorn boxes (Dollar Tree had two or three pack). I also made a "punch box" and it was a big hit. I could explain to you how I made this but it'll take too long. If you want to know the details, search for "punch box" on Pinterest. The basic explanation is each circle is a piece of tissue paper and behind that paper is a styrofoam cup with a Dollar Tree toy inside. So each kid takes a turn punching the circle to reveal their toy! Overall the party was such a huge success!
