Party Recap

Our son loves two things in this world the most: Dinosaurs and donuts...so this was the perfect theme for his 3rd birthday celebration!

I knew that since it wasn't a "typical" dinosaur party, I didn't want to use the typical orange/brown/green color scheme that I typically saw. I chose bold colors and black and white stripes to make his party pop. I painted dollar store dinos in red, green, yellow and blue to give them a more modern feel, and made small terrariums for the centerpieces. The fossil dig and the dinosaur tails (thanks mom!) were the biggest hits of the party for the kids. It was such a fun morning for our big boy!

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

We had the party at 10am so that the donuts would be more appropriate. We served a large variety of donuts, seismic sausage rolls, and fruit, (stegosaurus plates/watermelon, gallimimus grapes, curtaceous cantaloupe) and donut hole kabobs with strawberries that the kiddos could dip in the icing volcano.

  • What People Drank

Our drink station served Orange Juice, Coffee, and Milk

  • Desserts

Even though the donuts were enough sugar, I couldn't have a party without cake! We served cupcakes that I decorated with a small donut cookie and dinosaur pick and whimsically decorated sugar cookies.

  • Party Favors

Every child's place setting had a favor bag with dino fact cards and stamps inside. They were placed in a cute little bucket with dino dig tools for the fossil dig activity.

  • Activities / Games

The biggest activity was the fossil dig. We had two small kiddie pools that I filled with sand, plaster dino skeleton pieces, and mini donut fossils. I also had an artosaurus station where the kids could construct paper plate dinosaurs, and a bookasaurus station with dinosaur books for those kids who might need a little quiet time from all of the party craziness.
