Joey's First Birthday
ByParty Recap
It was a huge deal for us! I know there are a lot of people who oppose big parties for a one-year-old but he's the first grandchild in my family so it was a big deal! We had guests from BC and from New York and all over Alberta also! It was a ton of fun and Joey was so happy he didn't want to have a nap!
Party Highlights
-
What People Ate
We had a ton of carnival-style food! hot dogs, corn dogs, french fries, soft pretzels, cotton candy, pickles on a stick... etc... Everything had its own personalized label too!
-
What People Drank
We served beer and spirits to the adults (it was football playoff season!). The kids drank juice and lemonade.
-
Best Moment
Joey didn't get what the cake was about so he smashed his face into it and got sprinkles up his nose!
-
Desserts
I made a two tiered carousel cake, we had cotton candy, and we set up a create-your-own-cupcake station that everyone loved! They could choose a vanilla or chocolate cupcake, whatever icing they liked and we also offered a variety of yummy toppings!
-
Party Favors
Gift bags were tailored to the guests, we had a lot of babies so we gave out bibs, soothers and baby board books. The older kids got sippy cups, treat cups and fun toys and candy.
-
Activities / Games
We rented a HUGE ball pit and set up a really fun photo booth with lots of cool props.
