Party Recap

My son has been a fan of Sesame Street since birth. I have photos of him in front of the tv watching sesame street at every stage since birth (perhaps I shouldn't admit that publicly). I knew he had to have a Sesame Street party, and it had to be spectacular. He is my first child, and his first birthday. I planned and bought and stored things away throughout the course of a year, and I enlisted the help of several of my very creative and crafty friends to make Kai's party one he will always remember. If you have any questions as far as vendors or how-to's, please message me or leave a comment and I would be more than happy to answer. Hope you enjoy our party as much as we did!

I loveeee this cupcake stand!!! Do you mind sharing where it came from. We have our little one's birthday coming up and I must get a hold of one! By the way...you did an amazing job on his birthday party! Kudos! I hope my little one's is at least 10% as adorable as yours was! Send me a message at [email protected] if you don't mind sharing the stand info!

Hi...Can you please advise on how you made the center pieces. I absolutely love the way they came out. Also, where did u purchase the Sesame street sign? Thanks

Hi, Madi! Sorry, I haven't been on here in a while. The centerpieces were made from metal buckets purchased at Target (the $2.50 ones at the entrance), and spray-painted to coordinate with the plush, most of which were purchased on ebay. The plush had a skewer inserted through the back seam, all the way up to the top of the doll to lend rigidity, and the other end was wired with a floral pick. We used plastic cups hotglued to the inside of the tub to give the centerpiece some height, and then inserted a round piece of foam to be flush with the tub. The character was inserted into the center, and we cut tulle squares and wired them to floral picks, which were also inserted into the foam. We used round styrofoam balls painted with acrylics and glued to lollipop sticks to resemble lollipops, along with actual lollipops from oriental trading, and other random decor which was all wired onto a floral pick and inserted into the foam. The pinwheels were the final touch, which were purchased at the dollar tree. The sesame street sign was made by a friend of mine who's crafty with wood. If you'd like, you can message me and I will you give you his email address. He can make and ship to you. Hope I'm not too late!

Hi Shalimar! I didn't know how else to message you. Therefore, I hope you get to read my e-mail on time. I'm from Mesquite, TX and was interested in the "Sesame Street Sign". Would you kindly give me information on how I can purchase one for my son's 2nd birthday party. Thank you! Or Rosanna, if you happen to have that information already from her, and get to read this message before Shalimar (as I see that she hadn't been on this site for a while), please advise with the information. Very much appreciated! Best regards, Michelle

Hey ladies! Sorry--changed jobs and haven't been on in a while, but i'm here to help (i hope i'm not too late)! Rosanna--i did have gwynn wasson designs on etsy create all my stationary. I found a wrapping paper at target that i loved with bright colorful circles (which happened to coordinate with all the characters), and i scanned it and sent it to her and told her what i wanted--designs focued on those colors, with the characters i wanted added as accents. you can look her up on etsy.com, and there are also a ton of others that can create that custom look you want. Michelle and Liz, I spoke with my friend that made the sign for me and he can custom create one for you. do you want the pole and everything you need to assemble it, or just the wooden sign with the name? he can send it all unassembled and you would need a few basic tools to put it all together. he is going to the hardware store to cost it all out for you and to the post to inquire about shipping. i have an ebay sellers account so i could do a custom listing and you could pay via pay-pal. let me know what you think! you can email me diretly at [email protected] if you'd like. i hope your parties rock! can't wait to see!!! best of luck to y'all!!

Hi Shalimar, Thank you for responding! I am very much interested in having the pole but the cost would help me make my decision. Please ask your friend to quote the price for the sign (pole included and assemebled), the sign (pole included not assemebled) and the sign only. Thank you for your help!!!
