Party Recap

I had a difficult time finding an American Girl Party idea that wasn't a tea party or hair styling. And, I really wanted a theme we could play off of throughout the night. So, I looked back through AG Molly's books and camp across Camp Gowonagin. When I mentioned it to my daughter she loved the idea! I had my brother-n-law help me design our invitations, stickers, water bottle labels, t-shirt design, banner, etc. He did an awesome job! I found t-shirts for the girls at Hobby Lobby/Michaels and ordered shirts for the dolls on Etsy. They even turned out to be the same color! Then, we planned out the camp schedule! I have found that it is better to keep the girls busy and focused at this age. And, they really loved knowing the structure for the night! They had just enough free time in between activities that they could play together, but not enough to begin getting bored.

We had several food breaks built in beginning with supper at the Bistro which was Hot Dogs, Fruit Kabobs, Chips and a variety of Kaitlyn's favorite soft drinks. Then we had cake after the first activity and a Trail Mix Station for later in the evening.

I had the girls get their beds set up (with a little help from me so no one would be upset about where they were sleeping), get ready for bed and then our last activity was to watch the American Girl movie Kit. The girls really liked that movie! Most of them had not seen it. So it worked out great!

The next morning we had pancakes and fruit for breakfast.

The party turned out really well and the girls had a great time! Seeing their smiles and watching them play with their dolls was really fun! We tried to involve their dolls in most of the activities we did throughout the night.
