Party Recap

Being LDS (mormon) members we dont get baptised until the age of 8 so for my son's baptism (which was also his birthday day), we invited a tonne of famillies with lots of children to celebrate such a special occasion with us.
As our guest list was quite large and our budget was not we decided to ask everyone to bring a salad and we provided the meat and dessert. we're really glad we decided to do this as we ended up with a big variety of different delicious salads.
For dessert we kept it simple with one big table full of home-made cupcakes and donuts.

All of the decorations we used were gathered from different dollar stores we used things like crepe paper streamers, coloured card stock, wrapping paper and home printed patterned papers (free). I even made 2 matching cake stands in co-ordinating party colours using $3 melamine plates and $1 glass compotes from a thrift store.

as we held the party in a big gym at our local chapel we set up the tables and chairs on half of the basketball court to allow the other half for the kids to shoot hoops, play and run around on.
I also made a number 8 shaped pinata with a free cardboard box and 2 dollars worth of crepe paper i filled it with paper goodie bags full of lollies from big $5 bulk bags to ensure that each child got the same amount of lollies as the others.
We also had a photobooth set up using 3 rolls of good quality wrapping paper and free printable photobooth props which you can find here http://ohhappyday.com/2011/06/photobooth-props-set-2-free-printable/

We had so much fun and my son absolutely loved his day and wants "to do it all over again" his own words!
