Party Recap

This birthday party was so fun to plan and create!
My two little girls' birthdays are within days of each other so we had a double birthday party. My older daughter turned eight and LOVES dogs, and my little one turned two and LOVES cats, so you could imagine their delight to have a puppy and kitten themed party! I splashed the party with vibrantly cheerful colors throughout the decorations, cake, and treats. I also tastefully sprinkled some gold throughout the decor to add a bit of glitz and glamour! The cake donned precious bright coral and bright mint green ruffles; a color combo I DIE for these days! The gorgeous ruffle hearts on the cake complemented the gorgeous ruffle cookies, which accompanied the adorable puppy and kitty cookies! They were almost too cute to eat, but yummy as can be! I made sweet little kitten and puppy themed cupcake toppers and incorporated the theme into the small details, like the "pupcorn" I served in fun popcorn boxes, and the cute straws with "let's pawty" tags, and the cake "pups" instead of cake pops! Of all of the darling components that made up this party, I have to say that one of the most enjoyable details was the gift we prepared for our guests. In lieu of a treat bag (since they all went home with treats from the piƱata) we did a very special and memorable activity where the guests chose a toy puppy they wanted to adopt. They chose a collar, filled out a birth certificate, gave their new puppy a name and took him/her home in an adorable carrying case. They were also given "puppy chow" for their new pup, which was actually tasty cereal for them to enjoy. This party was so much fun and each small detail made the whole theme delightfully harmonious. It really came together in such a sweetly unforgettable way!
