Party Recap

In Australia Halloween is not really a big deal, nor is it widely celebrated. However, the halloween merchandise still shows up in our shops! Hence, my kids know all about it and can't understand whey they can't go 'trick or treating'! Since my son is born in October, I suggested last Halloween he might like to have a 'spooky' party next year and he was immediately sold on the idea!! And by some miracle stuck with it all year! So a 'Spooktakular' party it was!! Loads of fun and not too scary at all. We all dressed up and asked our guests to do the same. Everyone looked amazing!! We turned our living are into a spooky haven - blacked out all the windows, played halloween tunes and even got a smoke machine - the kids LOVED it!! We played 'pin the spider on the web', ghostly bowling, and had goop (cornflour and water) and bubbles to play with outside. We also played a few impromptu rounds of musical statues. And of course, they ate! On the menu was purple jelly, sugared popcorn, vanilla cupcakes, carrot sticks and dip, mini sandwiches, orange jelly beans and witches brew (water). Oh, and birthday cake of course - green, purple and orange layered buttercake, yum! All our guests went home with a pumpkin plant and ghost poo (marshmallows)!

All styling, food and paperware by me.
