Party Recap

Designing this party was so much fun and was a bit of a challenge initially until we found our flow. When the client reached out to us, she expressed that she wanted to celebrate her daughter's 13th birthday with a Marvel Black Panther themed party.

Since A Glam Good Time, specializes in parties for girls and women, we instantly thought that instead of taking the traditional Black Panther angle, we'd instead design it around the heroines of the movie, Okoye, Nakia, and Princess Shuri. The challenge became, how to do this? There was no inspiration to look at online so we literally had to draw on our own creativity and imagination.

With the help of an amazing graphics designer, we set to work designing! We settled on the colors of red, orange, gold and a touch of black and silver because these were the dominant colors of the Dora Milaje's and Princess Shuri's uniforms.

There were certain aspects that absolutely had to be included such as the crossed arms which represent "Wakanda Forever" that became a huge trend after the movie debuted. We knew instantly that the arms would serve as the chair decor.

Next up was deciding on the desserts. The client was providing desserts so we worked with her on this. This theme just had to have "themed" desserts so to achieve this and to save the client time, we thought of store brought desserts that could be named using some aspect from the movie. Our favorite was the "war rhino poop"! Hahaha this was the best part!

It was important to the client that her daughter's photo(s) was included in some manner so we made sure to add her image to the popcorn bags, which served as party favors, on the custom cookies, and at her place setting.

Our client was so happy with the results that she cried! We couldn't have asked for a better reaction!
