Lenix's Hollywood Glam Party

Guest were given the "red carpet" treatment by walking into the party via red material lined on the sides by homemade stanchions leading to a door labeled "Stage Door Entrance." They were individually photographed with a small insta-pix Polaroid and photo was placed onto a star hanging on the wall with their names. There were glam stations set for entertainment: nail painting, decorating hand mirrors (Dollar Tree) with sticker jewels (Wal-Mart) ,and created make-overs on sheets with a "model" face provided, and bubble wrap paper was placed on the floor (THEY LOVED THIS) to pop and we labeled this station,"Pop Stars." There was also a small stage where they could dance to Kid Bop radio. Guests were provided Sparkling Grape Juice in clear cocktail style glasses (Dollar Tree purchase as well). As party favors, everyone was provided a light blue box (like Tiffany Co. blue colored bags) where a diamond ring (Amazon), black sunglasses (Amazon), and pearl necklace (Amazon) were placed. They were asked prior to singing ,"Happy Birthday," to place these items on and then stand on stage for a group photo. Lenix was placed in the middle with white sunglasses so she would stand out. Every guest was asked to dress as "Hollywood Glam" or just simply in something that made them feel "pretty." It was one of the most memorable hour and 1/2 time of my life just to see Lenix absolutely smile the entire time! I could not have done any of this without the creative mind of my mother who spray painted plastic tubs from Dollar Tree with metallic gold spray paint, purchase gold ornaments to fill vases for table fillers, and hung gold/pink material for a shimmering effect. She also placed battery operated white lights beneath the fabric on the cake table to add pizzazz. Her creativity, yet simplicity, was the "icing on the cake!"

• What People Ate

  Because it was a 1:30 party, only cake, cookies, and sparkling grape juice were served. The cake was a two tiered homemade strawberry cake, with buttercream strawberry icing, and a large #6 cookie placed as the cake topper. Cookies were pink colored stars with gold writing of Lenix and lined in gold as well.

• What People Drank

  Sparkling white or red grape juice. Water for those who did not appreciate the "bubbly." The kiddos absolutely LOVED this!

• Party Favors

  "Tiffany Co." blue colored boxes, fake diamond rings (under wedding favors on Amazon), rhinestone tiara combs for their hair (Amazon), white pearls, and black sunglasses.

• Activities / Games

  1. Nail painting station - we had our 13 year old babysitter assist with this 2. Hand held mirrors to decorate with sticker jewels/rhinestones 3. Sheets with a black/white face of a girl where the kids were provided colors to create a make-over 4. Bubble wrap lined along the floor in a separate section to jump and pop - this area was called "Pop Stars" 5. Dancing areas where Kid Bop radio was played from Pandora
