Lily's Purple Cowgirl 5th Birthday

My going-to-be 5-year-old daughter is horse crazy. Her favorite color is purple so we had to customize a lot to make her a purple cowgirl party. The special guest was 3 ponies for the kids to feed/decorate and ride!

• Best Moment

  When the ponies arrived, my daughter was so excited!

• Funniest Moment

  The ponies were a little freaked out about the wooden cut out horses and kept snorting at them.

• What People Ate

  After snacks (carrots with ranch, apples with caramel and pretzel bites), we served BBQ beef, baked beans, watermelon and corn on the cob. People ate lunch out of pie tins.

• What People Drank

  Lemonade from mason jars and old fashioned root beer in bottles. I used a large galvanized bucket as a cooler.

• Desserts

  We had cake of course. I also made smores by dipping marshmallows in melted chocolate and graham cracker crumbs.

• Party Favors

  The kids all got to choose a hat, bandana and sheriff star when they arrived.

• Activities / Games

  Riding ponies. Decorating and feeding ponies.
