Party Recap

.For Sheridan's 11th birthday, we celebrated with a Little Miss Homemaker party. As the guests arrived, they put on an apron that I hand embroidered with each girl's name and then they signed the scrapbook page. I told them as part of being a retro homemaker, looking your best was a must! Each girls got their own blush, mascara and red lipstick. It was so fun to watch them apply it. They really enjoyed the make up because they would "re-apply" after each activity! The next activity was to sew some rosette headbands. Each girl received their own sewing kit and picked 2 different fabrics to make them. After the headbands were all made, we moved into the kitchen to make pies. They rolled out dough and cut it to make lattice tops for either an apple or cherry pie. As the pies were baking in the oven, the guests sang to Sheridan and they all enjoyed the chocolate and raspberry cream filled ruffle cake I made. I also made the cake topper.
The girls loved playing the clothesline game where they had to hang my grandmother's aprons on a clothesline in the shortest amount of time. Ashley won and received a small bottle of Sheridan's favorite candy-Hershey's Kisses!
As the pies were cooling, Sheridan opened her gifts. Her friends are so sweet making her cards and knowing her interests so well.
The guests took home custom party hats that I made, apron, rolling pin, make up, their headband they made, sewing kit and their homemade pie!
