Madeline's 1st. Birthday!
ByParty Recap
We celebrated Madelines 1st. Bday, at my mom's house, in her backyard. It was really a last minute decision! We couldn't reach any parks #'s and I was getting overwhelmed with everything so we just went ahead with plan b.
Since my boyfriends mom, (mother in law) is Filipino, we did half Mexican-american-filipino food. We had adobo, with white rice and chicken salad, with pasta salad n some rice crispy treats for the kiddos.
Madelines cake was red velvet, white and strawberry. It was delicious! Perfect!
I spend about 45$ on the basic materials for the decor, at party city. I managed to buy the polka dot wrapping paper at hobby lobby for about $6. I also spend about 30$ on center pieces materials, I made my own Minnie mouse center pieces. All items from hobby lobby.
I used a box, cut it up into Minnie mouse head shapes for the other set of center pieces, I'm an artist so I already had the paint n the paint brush stuff.
I also made de big Minnie mouse shape to put on the wall for pictures.
And all the decor I did, the night before the actual day of the party. It took me 2 hours to get everything organized n ready. So the next day it was pretty easy to set up.
I enjoyed this party very much, I think I did a pretty decent job. Most important thing I would recommend to parents who are throwing a 1st bday party, is take plenty of pictures!!!!!
I hope you guys like this party, and feel free to ask questions n take some ideas for future parties! :)
