Party Recap

Pop the Balloon! Children’s Parties & Events had the pleasure of celebrating a little girl’s 3rd birthday with a deep sea adventure in search of magical mermaids and the final result was nothing short of breathtaking…

The brief was for a mermaid party that had a watery and other-worldly feel to it, with jewel tones of teal and blue for the ocean with highlights of pink and accents of gold. Together with Little Princess Designs, I set about creating unique mermaid inspired tableware that featured iridescent white paper plates with gold foil mermaids, matching foil mermaids on the miniature glass milk bottles before carrying the gold foil effect through to the white cloth napkins.

Our popular mega bubble wands were on show again today too – this time selecting a fun pink bubble wand and covering it in gold glitter, finished with a pretty pastel pink bow which worked so beautifully with the colours in the paper plates.

All the table covers were custom made by Pop the Balloon! Children’s Parties and Events and carried through to the main event – the epic dessert buffet! On the menu today were:

- Mermaid cupcakes with decorative edible mermaid tails
- Dinglehopper cake pops (inspired by Disney’s “The Little Mermaid”)
- Clam shell macarons with edible pearls
- Custom designed mermaid cookies
- Custom wrapped chocolate wrappers with matching gold foil mermaid to the bespoke tableware
- A colourful lolly selection inspired by colours of the sea
- Fun mermaid treat boxes filled with salted popcorn
- Beverage station with a fun child friendly fruit juice and lemonade punch

Then there were the finishing touches, chairs wrapped in blue and pink tulle and sprinkled with mermaid glitter, bubble machines pumping out a ‘gazillion bubbles’ in a matter of moments and the bubble balloons and balloon twisted table garland featuring seaweed, turtles, fish and an octopus!

Without doubt one of the most fanciful parties I have had the pleasure of creating to date and I cannot wait to do it all over again. In fact, this party has already been booked for another little girl celebrating her 3rd birthday in just a few months’ time – so super excited to create this mermaid party again!
