We threw a Muppets Party for Maisy's 6th Birthday - she had a blast!
I tried to create a relaxed, fun party that was about the kids and what they like to do rather than focussing on decorations and a fancy dessert table.
Maisy isn't a fan of party games so we didn't play any and I'm not a fan of kids running round high on sugar so we gave them a meal towards the end of the party and just gave them a few sweets to take home ;)
We almost always use the local church hall for our parties and this was the first time I was quite happy with the purple walls as for once they fit my colour theme of 'anything goes'
Of course I had a mad stress before the party -especially as pretty much everything was DIY, the only thing I bought in was the 2 amazing banners that my friend Ken did in exchange for his Son's birthday cake (don't you just love trade-offs?) and the decorations were ready made.
Overall though it was pretty chilled out and everyone enjoyed themselves.
Thanks for looking :)
What People Ate
Hot Dogs, Fries, Macaroni Cheese, Onion Rings, Salad
What People Drank
All the kids (and some adults) were asked to 'Dress in the style of their favourite Muppet' It was great to see everyone's interpretation of this.
We had 2 'shops' at the end of the party - 'Fozzie Bear's Joke & Music shop' where the kids chose from a selection of practical jokes, noise makers and instruments and 'Dr Teeth's Sweet Shop' where the kids chose from a selection of sweeties.
Activities / Games
We had 2 craft stations 'Make a Banjo with Kermit' and 'Make a Muppet with Walter' We had a photo area where kids were invited to 'Have a photo shoot with Miss Piggy' We also rocked out with Animal as 2 friends entertained us with some of Maisy's favourite songs
