Mateo's 4th Birthday Circus Party

The party was a circus/carnival theme. There were over 30 children present. It appeared that they had a great great time. We were so nervous it was going to rain, but the day ended up being perfect. As guests came in they were given their party hat that held the ticket to have access to all the fun at the party. They were offered popcorn from the popcorn machine and then sent to had fun. Right before eating, we played a few games of potato sack races and finally boys vs girls tug of war. Boys won… with the help of some big boys =) When the food finally arrived, it was chow time. Next, was set up for the circus show. There were four acts. After each act the performers had to change their costume so we would pass out cotton candy, animal balloons or have The Bearded Lady tell jokes or show off the strongest man in the world. After the show, it was piñata time. Birthday boy gave 4 hits and then mommy tore the piñata apart since it appeared it was going to pour any second. Quickly after, it was to the cake table where the birthday boy smashed his face into the cake before we even began singing. People hung out for a long while since the rain never came down. It was a fabulous party. A lot of work, but so worth the effort when I heard my son say he wanted another party "tomorrow" when he turns 5. =)

  My nieces worked all summer with their friends to come up with 4 circus performance acts. It came out amazing.
