Party Recap

This party was for my ski loving husband, Matthew's 40th birthday.
We had the invitations made to look like 'ski passes' so guests had to wear them on the night. The party venue was a European restaurant which matched the ski lodge feel we were going for and we re-named it 'Matthew's Mountain Lodge' on the invitations.
On the tables we had ski themed cloth patches, ski figurines, crotched snow flakes, mini personalised snow globes with pics of hubby in them, pine cones etc. Each place setting had a personalised ski map placemat which had landmarks marked on it with words of things relevant to the birthday boy's life, hobbies and family.
The party favours were takeaway coffee cups with personalised cup 'sleeve' to match the party stationary - the cups were filled with treats like Swiss chocolate, snow ball chocolates, snowman chocolates and some snowflake party sprinkles.
The cake was a 3D mountain complete with edible snow, skiier and trees! A three tier chocolate mudcake with crushed candy-cane chocolate buttercream filling, covered with ganache and peppermint flavoured fondant - YUM!
We also made some ski themed photo props that were in ski boots on the table for the night that served as some fun for photos!!

If you could direct me to a web page for the personalized place mats, I would very much appreciate that as well!

Hi Jane, All the invites, placemats and photo props were printables made by Cake Ink. their website is: http://www.cakeink.com.au I'm sure the ladies there would happily let you know more details on them and can personalise them for your party. Hope that helps.
