Party Recap

My son Matua turned 10 recently and for several months leading up to the big day (double digits!!) had told me he was "too old" to have a "proper party". I (reluctantly) agreed that he could choose a friend to go out to a restaurant with us for dinner and have a sleep-over which was his wish, only slightly relieved that I would have one less party to plan as we were having a big belated Christmas season party the weekend before. Less than 2 weeks away from his birthday he told me he had changed his mind and would I be able to do a proper party with dessert table! First call was to Jenny from Concept Designs to see if she could fit me in for a rush job with a poster idea I planned to use as a backdrop plus matching printables. My brief was to create a poster incorporating Matua's favourite colours and just a few of the many things that make us so proud of him. Food included jelly in 2 shades of blue, shaded blue cookies, chocolate mousse with paint swirl effect chocolate shards to garnish, cake and lollies. Aqua lemonade and water bottles to drink and little blue plastic containers with a few favours for the guests (water gun, rubber ball and some glow sticks) Mini hotdogs and lots of swimming completed this party and Matua, his brothers & his friends had a wonderful day (and Mummy still got to style a party for him!)
