Hi Lupe! Yes, we made the piñata. Actually, I put my husband on that task! ;) We basically followed instructions from this blog: http://atsecondstreet.blogspot.com/2010/04/minnie-party-how-tos-part-1.html Very easy to follow instructions! Have fun! :)
Where did you find the mouse shaped cheese? Adorable idea!
Hi Tonya! Thank you! Actually, I cut them myself. I got a big block of cheese from Costco, had it sliced at a deli, and then I purchased a set of 3 cookie cutters from E-Bay. The set included a star, a Mickey hand, and a Mickey head, and I just used those to make the cheese shapes. :)
Wow, your party was so cute. I was wondering can you help me with the template for the food labels? I am having a mickey party April 1st and your awesome party has really motivated me. Thanks Stacy. My email is sweetcake@pacbell.net
Hi Stacy! Thank you so much! It was tons of fun to plan and pull off and I'm so glad the pictures can help others plan their party! Yes, I can share the template I used, no problem! :) Have fun planning and good luck! Can't wait to see pictures!
how did you make the chocolate covered Minnie's they are too cute. I have to make some Minnie cookie pops in April. Any tips or ideas please and thank you ;
Hi there! Not sure if you're familiar with making cake pops, so I apologize if any of this info is basic. After I made the cake balls, I dipped the lollipop stick in melting chocolate, and inserted it into the ball so it would stay secure. The melting chocolate acts like glue and it dries VERY quickly, so you've gotta move fast! :) Anyway, once the sticks were secure, I took 2 round melting chocolates and a small round cookie cutter (I just used the ear portion of a micky mouse cookie cutter I had) and snipped off a small edge of the round chocolate piece. You could probably even just use a knife or something. I dipped that cut edge into a little bit of melting chocolate, and then secured it to the cake ball - one on each side for the ears. Once that was dried (maybe just a few minutes), I carefully dipped the entire cake pop into the melting chocolate and voila! Mickey head! I bought small red candy hearts and dipped the edge of those in melting chocolate, and then put two in the center in between the ears to make it a Minnie head with a bow. :) Hope that helps! Let me know if anything wasn't clear, or if you have any other questions. HAVE FUN!! :)
Hi, I'm planning a Minnie mouse party for my daughter Talia. Shr turns two in may and loves Mickey mouse club house. Could you please share your templates with me. Also how did you make your invitations. They are just what I was looking for. Did you find the Disney font anywhere in particular? I know I've seen it before. I think you did an amazing job and hope mine looks anywhere close to this.

Hi Angela! Thank you so much! You're so sweet, and I'm sure that your party will turn out fabulous! I'll definitely send you the templates for the food tents that I have. I can't remember if I saved the templates for the invites, but if I did, I will send them to you. I did them all in Publisher, so I'm not sure if you have that program? For the Disney font, I just google'd "Free Disney font" and downloaded it. There are tons out there! :) As for the invites, they were a labor of love! I bought black cardstock and cut them as big as my envelopes so that it would be a perfect fit. I bought the red & white polka dot paper on sale @ Michael's, and then cut the top and bottom with scalloped scissors. I downloaded a picture from Google images of black background with small white polka dots, and then just pasted it into Word to make that middle border. Cut them out and pasted them onto the red polka dot paper. I pasted the polka dot paper onto the cardstock, and then for the writte part, I got a Google image of a Mickey Mouse head silhouette, pasted that into Word, and then did my white text inside of the head. I realized that I can't print white text onto black paper, so I had to put that black head on white paper so that I could print in white. Make sense? I then copied a Googe image of Minnie Mouse bow and then copied a bunch of them into Word and cut them out, pasted them onto the top of the head, and glued tiny rhinestones in the polka dots. So much fun once they were done, and I got a ton of comments from family and friends. It sounds like a lot (and, like I said, it was a labor of love) but so rewarding when they're finally done and they look so cute. :) Let me know if you have any other questions!! Happy planning, and good luck! I'm sure your party will be GREAT! :)
OMG! I love love the party! I'm having my daughter a Minnie mouse party in June. If you could please share your templates I would appreciate it so much! laguadiaterry@gmail.com
Aw, thank you! Of course I can e-mail you what I have; however, I did most of my templates in Publisher, so I'm not sure if you have that program or not, but if not, you can always go to Kinko's or something and work on them there, or try to recreate them in Word? Anyway, I will e-mail them to you. Good luck on your party!! :)
I WOULD LOVE THE TEMPLATE FOR THE INVITES TOO :D YOUR PARTY LOOKS AMAZING!!! truluvizmyne@gmail.com THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I LOVE the party my daughter is having a Minnie mouse party and i will love for you to help me with template for the food please felicia2719@yahoo.com thanks u very much
and also the homemade sign and work your cousin did please thank u very much
Hi Felicia! Sure, I can send you the templates I do have for the food labels, the banner, and the water bottle labels, but my cousin didn't have templates for the awesome homemade signs she used. I think she used a projector and some images of Minnie Mouse that she found online (Google images) and traced them onto big paper and then colored/painted them. So unfortunately, I don't have any templates for those! :( So sorry! I'll e-mail you what I do have, though. Enjoy your party, and best of luck to you! :)

Precious party! I have a question, did the pinata break easily? I'm hoping my husband will make one for my daughter's party in a couple of weeks, but wanted to make sure it worked well first :) Thanks!!
Hi Shelly, thank you! To answer your question, no, the pinata didn't break too easily. It wasn't impossible to break, but if I remember correctly, I think my husband had to give it a good whack after all the kids had a turn, just to get it going. I remember him mentioning that "next time" he'd use less tape, or at least a tape that wasn't quite as srong. Hope that helps! Good luck!! :)
Almost a year later, and your party is still a huge hit! Thanks for all of the wonderful ideas!!! My daughter's first birthday is on February 5th and will be using a lot of your ideas :D
