This party was celebrating my great nephews 2nd birthday. He was featured
(but bot born yet) at the baby shower on this page given for his mother. Since he loves cars so much and was turning 2 we went with the Disney Cars 2 theme.
I got several ideas off the Internet. My favorite was the Shake' n go Speedway that I used to display the cupcakes and the cake. I'm not sure who to give credit to but whoever you are I loved the idea. The racetrack was very expensive but I was actually able to find one on EBay for $19.00--- I was thrilled!
One last thing about this party. I discovered that I don't like to give outdoor parties unless they are at my home. It turned out to be a windy day which made putting up the decorations and balloons very difficult. We had to keep the food covered because of the flies. It was also hard to take pictures with the wind blowing things. I ended up not being able to put a lot of the decorations out. Everyone had a great time but ole nit- picky me, was annoyed.
What People Ate
Croissant sandwiches and Turkey wraps from Costco, chips, potato salad and a fruit salad. The little ones were served boxed lunches. This was a no cooking party except for the potato salad.
What People Drank
Izzies and assorted beverages
When everyone sang Happy Birthday to Meko and his little face just lit up!
Cake, cupcakes, peach cobbler, popcorn and mini doughnuts.
Cars 2 tote bags filled with cars 2 themed goodies like drinking cups, markers, coloring boards, bubbles, wash cloths and a variety of snacks
Activities / Games
The jump house was the main attraction although we had planned other games as well. The older kids went swimming
(Sigh) I don't even keep track any more but we got a great deal on the cake!
