Party Recap

For her 6th birthday party, my daughter wanted a mermaid party, but she wanted to invite some boys too. So I came up with a Mermaids and Pirates: Under the Sea party theme. It was a huge hit!

Idea

Party Highlights

  • Best Moment

Watching the kids wear off some sugar playing pop the cannonball.

  • Funniest Moment

My daughter casually ate all the candies in "Don't eat Pirate Pete" because she guessed correctly

  • Best Dressed

They were all dressed the part!

  • Desserts

    There were lots of dessert!

  • Party Favors

The loot bags were filled with glow in the dark wand , bubbles, coloring pages, candy necklaces, rings, and coins, as well as the Mermaid tails, crowns, eye patches, and bandanas worn at the party.

  • Activities / Games

We decorated mini treasure chests, played toss the ring on the sword, had a treasure hunt, pop the cannonball, decorated a seashell sun catcher, and "Don't eat pirate Pete!"

  • Budget

Dollar store was my best friend

  • What People Ate

There were chips, Mermaid and Pirate cupcakes, Watermelon shark, Green pepper octopus, Treasure chest cake and Oyster cookies

  • What People Drank

    Blue Kool-Aid of course!

Thanks for checking out my party! I actually made these tails myself. Thanks to Dollarama, they worked out to about 75 cents each. For more information check out my blog, www.cindyscreativecuts.com/mermaids-pirates-sea-party/
