Party Recap

Sometimes when you meet someone, you just know they are supposed to play an important role in your life. Such was the case for Elaine and Tyler who, after meeting online, fell for one another instantly. After Tyler had planned a grand first date for their first meeting, Elaine insisted on a ‘pre-date’ at their local mall. Although they hadn’t met in person yet, it was Elaine’s smile from across the mall that grabbed Tyler’s heart and, from then on, he didn’t stand a chance. Their food court romance quickly turned into much more and Tyler found himself down on one knee, nine short months later.

When planning their wedding, there was never a question that it would be in Cancun. Tyler had always imagined himself saying ‘I do’ on distant shores and it was only fitting that they chose the destination Elaine’s family frequented as she was growing up. It wasn’t hard for them to choose a venue – they had already fallen in love with the site on their first vacation together.

In addition to wedding festivities, the pair took advantage of their getaway with an excursion to Isla Mujeres, a nearby island. With shiny new rings on their fingers, the newlyweds rented a golf cart and explored the seven-mile island for a day, finishing their day with fish tacos and margaritas on the beach. If that isn’t paradise, what is?

Along the way, Elaine and Tyler learned a thing or two about planning their destination wedding that they wanted to share with other couples in the throes of engagement. “Don’t sweat the small stuff,” Elaine stressed. “Know what is important to you and be flexible with the rest. You’re planning a destination wedding so you can have fun with your friends and family, so that’s how you should be spending your time!” Although their destination wedding experience was simply indescribable, the new Mr. and Mrs. settled on three words for theirs – “romantic, relaxing, and fun!”
