Modern Vintage 1st birthday

For my second son's 1st birthday we used antique furniture to create a vintage party with modern touches and a beautiful color palette of mint, yellow, and gray. I handmade all of the pinwheels, and rosettes throughout the party. My mom handmade all of the kites that hung over our heads above the sitting area. I rented all of the antique furniture and created a vintage tablescape with an old solid wood door, two sawhorses covered in burlap, and a grey and white washed wall backdrop that my husband hand cut and made.
Vendors include twirl and twig for the custom wooden spoon, polka dot market for the dot balloons and labels on the chevron bags, centerpiece on donut cake was made by oh goodie designs, Jon jon made by auntmonmons on etsy and appliquéd by *golden* on facebook. His t-shirt, bib, and my oldest sons tank top were custom made by *golden*. Moccasins by Freshly Picked.
I used a vintage room divider to display his 12 month photos and other instagram photos printed by persnikity prints. A display of pictures were also designed on a matte board in the shape of a 1. Pictures were of his entire first year and all the "firsts" he had. A lounge area was created with a vintage day bed and fluffy pillows bought at Home Goods. The cake was made and decorated by my mother in law. Cake pop sticks were wrapped with washi paper on paper sticks and wooden sticks were bought from party on! and then hand glittered and tied with tulle. Cupcake stands were made with Candle sticks spray painted with grey paint and square chip board squares were painted turquoise and hot glued onto the candle sticks. The wooden chalkboard was bought at Ikea and also painted grey to match the party. The vintage high chair was purchased off of craigslist locally and handpainted with chalk paint to match the party.
We had a craft station, puppet show, piñata, and photo booth to keep the kids entertained and were all a hit!

• Modern vintage 1st birthday

  A vintage birthday party with a modern twist using chevron patterns, polka dots, grey, mint, yellow, and antique furniture. Paper crafts were hand made and fabric kites and triangle buntings were sewn to use as decor.
