Party Recap

There was a high chance of rain but thankfully the sun was shinning and we had a great time. Coral was smiling and laughing just about the whole time, and that's really what it's all about.

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

    Pizza, Fruit and Salad

  • What People Drank

    Honest kids drinks, Soda, H20

  • Best Moment

Hearing all the little kiddos laughing and screaming as they were all being swung on this big circular swing.

  • Funniest Moment

Watching all the girls gallop through the plants, funniest and cutest.

  • Most Touching Moment

When Coral was crying because she tripped and all her friends walked up to her and asked if she was ok. I could have cried myself.

  • Best Dressed

EVERYONE. All the girls were dressed in tutus, clip on ears and a colored braid for their hair. The Boys wore Dragon capes.

  • Desserts

Cake (white cake, raspberry filling and whipped cream), cupcakes that were vegan and gluten free for my allergy friends.

  • Party Favors

Aside from the costumes I gave out treat bags. They were packed with the following: MLP stickers, MLP tattoos, Horse toy, Dragon toy, Dragon sticker booklet, Rainbow Crayon, MLP ring, Horse eraser top, color magic scratch bookmarks, pencils, fruit roll up, organic cookie pack, rainbow lollipop, bubbles, and smarties candies.

  • Activities / Games

Color me wooden pony standee, Pin the tail on Rainbow Dash, and What time is it Mr. Wolf. I had a few other games planned but the birthday girl was not in the best of moods by the end of game 2. The park was right next to us, if that counts as an activity ;)

  • Budget

no budget but I spent around $340, with most of the funds spent on food.

  • My little pony perfection

My little pony costume party was perfect for a park party. I could point out everyone easily and safely. It took a great amount of planning but the pony costumes were actually done rather quickly. The dragon capes took a bit longer but still very simply. THANK you "catch my party" and "Pinterest" for all the great ideas.

They are made out of felt, I just cut them out and hot glued them on. Foam paper might work and would probably be easier to cut out.

My daughter has her heart set on making these tutus and dragon wings. Would you mind telling me where you got the plain tutus and dragon wings? Thank you! This looks like an amazing party.

I made the dragon costumes myself. I saw a cute one online and just eyeballed the shape when I cut it out. I went to JoANN Fabrics and got some snuggle flannel Because I thought it was a bit sturdy and the design looked dragon enough ;) Then bought some felt and cut out the shapes, sewed and glued. The tutus I bought and then added the cutie marks with felt. It actually holds up really well through the wash too, my daughter still wears them to dance every week. I got the dragon shape idea from this post :http://www.eatsleepmake.com/2013/10/fall-felt-series-hooded-dragon-cape.html Found this dragon spike post and merged both: http://seevanessacraft.com/2012/10/20-crafty-days-of-halloween-diy-dino-hoodie/ The tutus I got were less than $3bux each here: http://www.alwaysunderpay.com/tutus/ The ear pattern here: http://www.deviantart.com/print/29364018/ I also posted another photo of the dragon costumes so you might be able to see the design better. Oh and here's my PINTEREST that had most of the sites on it. Hope that helps.
