Party Recap

The idea for this Neverland party came about when we loved the (at the time) trending Wild One themes and the boho picnic parties. We wanted to create something a little different that still utilized some of the same characteristics such as the tepees and picnic tables.

Noticing my son growing up much too fast, Neverland seemed like the perfect theme for his first birthday (Never Grow Up Sam!).

Once again though the weather was against us so instead of setting up by the lake, we moved the entire event indoors.

FIRST THE ENTRANCE:
We found some beautiful branches from our local shops and hung it up over our entryway where we then hung a gazillion vines from to create a magical entrance for our guests. On the other side to greet them was our Tinkerbelle Standee.

DESSERT TABLE:
Our first impact would be our bright green wall backdrop, which we have our customized Onederland sign attached to. Above it our Silhouettes of Peter Pan and the Darling children flying over the clouds of Neverland. On the table an amazing array of sweets, including a stunning 7 layer cake, Krispy Kreme donuts, customized lollypops and chocolate loots, cupcakes, jelly, and yogurt. We also have the cutest handpainted Bullyland figurines guarding their lolly treasures on the table.

DISPLAY SHELVES:
Knowing we needed to fill in some space on an otherwise empty wall, we added in our display shelves which we filled with drink dispensers for water and punch for our guests, lolly bags and little displays put together by Sassy Snaps. On one side we turned it into a bit of a pirates cove with Captain Hook standing guard. On the other a mix of Peter Pan, Tinkerbelle and the Indian camp. The Indian Camp display includes beautifully crafted wooden pieces from Sams personal toy collection.

PICNIC TABLE:
Our long picnic table includes the standard array of rugs and cushions, we used the specific colors and bear rugs to create a bit of lost boys feel to it. On display we have our terrarium centerpieces handcrafted and put together by Kim at Sassy Snaps. For catering, we supplied our guests with subway, cheese platters, and popcorn side dishes. On the table, we also have a couple of Peter Pan Silhouette Standees on each end created by our friend Nicole.

INDIAN CAMP:
Outside we created an Indian camp with Sams tepees setup, a couple of character props and plenty of soft rugs and cushions for the kids to play.

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

Subway wraps and rolls for a quick and easy lunch.

  • What People Drank

We had glass sprite bottles on the pallet tables, as well as two different punches served in our drink dispensers on high shelving away from small childrens reach.

  • Desserts

We had a dessert display which included the cake, lollies, cookies, lollipops, chocolate bars, jelly and yogurt (for the little ones).

  • Party Favors

Our party favors included a selection of Pirate bags filled with chocolate gold coins or pixie bags filled with mixed lollies. We also had custom chocolate bars for all the adults.

  • Activities / Games

Most of our guests were adults with babies/toddlers so we created an outdoor area (Indian Camp) which included teepees, soft cushion setup and a basket filled with lots of Sams wooden toys for the kids to play with.
