Party Recap

This is a fun party I did for an adorable 7 year old and her friends.

The Theme: Pop Star
The Birthday Girl: Super star in training
The Party: Awesome!

This was the 2nd time I did this theme and it was every bit as fun as the first! I love seeing the girls get excited to walk down the red carpet. So cute! They got their VIP backstage passes, got their photo taken, and entered the party through the VIP Entrance. Makes them feel so special right out of the gate!

All the decorations were purple with lots of gold and a little silver and black here and there. I had a big silver disco ball hanging in the center of the main room where we set up the karaoke machine. For this party I made a lot of purple and gold tulle pom poms, star banners, and "Concert ticket" invites. The table was dressed in purple with a silver star table runner and real record chargers. Cake plates of microphone cupcakes served as the centerpieces.

The bling your microphone craft was the first activity. I made the base of the mic from tulle rolls (or you could use toilet paper rolls). Just spray paint and hot glue silver Christmas balls to the top and you've got yourself a mic! I let the girls go to town with lots of gems to bling them out. I made a long fabric banner to separate the craft area from the main karaoke room (aka living room). It was a nice backdrop for pics and also made the girls feel special going into the secret "VIP craft room".

Next up was the autograph signing. Using black "chalk board" card stock, the girls made up their page with silver and gold markers and glittery stickers. Then they all signed each others page and added stars.

Karaoke was the main event and not lost on this fun group! The birthday girl and her friends had a blast singing their favorite tunes while others just dressed up - I always have the dress up trunk on hand! - and danced along.

In the main room, I had a Superstar "Wall of Fame" featuring the birthday girl in the center. I always love to take pics of the birthday girl during set up (the day before) and then print up a few for decoration. This little girl had SO much personality! We got some great shots of her hamming it up and singing in the mic!

Personalized swag bags did double duty as decorations until the end of the day. Shiny disco balls filled each one and were a huge hit!
