Party Recap

OMG Hurricane Matthew almost stopped us but we were very lucky to dodge that bullet. After months of planning the day finally came to CELEBR8! This year Aiyana chose the Emoji theme which totally matches her personality- with winking face with stick out tongue being her favorite. We hosted over 20 kids for a total of 40 guests, thank goodness we had a pool party! We opted for cupcakes and other yummy desserts to fill us up. You can guess poop emoji brownies were the all time favorite! Emoji wrapped gum was also a super popular item and I didn't even get to try one - sad face emoji. We made miñatas which are mini piñatas as party favors. They each had an emoji sticker, emoji eraser, emoji stamp, emoji candy bracelet, and a colorful loom bracelet made by the birthday girl AND candy of course. All I can say is that the day was emojional and it was truly Sunday Funday!

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

First time we keep it simple. Hot dogs and chips but had to add Pik.Nik shoestring potatoes to give the hotdogs a little personality.

  • What People Drank

Kids: Water and Soda Adults: Water, Soda and Beer

  • Desserts

Chocolate and Vanilla Cupcakes from Sams, brownie bites made into pop emojis with candy eyes (homemade), mini cupcakes, Emoji wrapped gum from Oriental Trading, Emoji Lollipops from Oriental Trading, and sugar cookies with edible decorations from TlcEdibles purchased on Etsy.

  • Party Favors

Hand made mini piñatas in 6 different emojis. Each piñata contained emoji sticker, emoji eraser, emoji stamp, emoji candy bracelet, and a colorful loom bracelet made by the birthday girl and candy.

  • Activities / Games

Pool and big Piñata filled with candy, emoji rings and yoyos. The funny thing on the Piñata is that we had over 20 kids in line and only 4 were able to hit it! My hubby luckily is quick witted and made the rest of the kids give it a punch before he tossed the rest of the candy.

Party Helpers

  • Grandma also knowm as Mami Lupe

    Helped decorate day of event.

I love working with her she just does what I tell her to do. haha

  • Great Grandma also known as Mami Olga

Helped decorate day of event and helped assemble mini piñata

My grandmother is very crafty. That is where I get it from. She does have an opinion on things but my mom steps in if her ideas are too old school. :) She also helped the day of moving things, taping, assembling, pretty much anything I asked for it got done. I have a great crew!

  • Phillip also known as Birthday Girl's Daddy

    Chef

This helper always comes in at the end and is the cook and drinks guy for the party. He needs to make sure food is ready and drinks are refilled. Luckily this time we made it simple but he still had to make extra hot dogs! Good thing I can pay him with Beer and Kisses.
