Party Recap

This “salty” and sweet dual birthday party was an incredibly fun opportunity to mix fluffy pink tulle and glittering diamond tiaras with aged fishing nets and pirate hooks. I planned and styled the event for my oldest son and his best friend. These two cuties were born two weeks apart and have rarely spent a day apart since, so it only made sense for them to celebrate their birthdays together this year!

Guests arrived to a house divided among pirates and princesses. I wanted a party that represented the birthday boy/girl’s different theme choices while making sure they each had the same main components. The princess side is sparkling with pastel pinks, gray, and silver, while the pirate side is draped in black and red. Everything showcased the two themes equally from the hand crafted mirror and pirate sail to the handmade snack boxes. Even the children’s outside table, where they crafted treasure maps, was split between pirates and princesses. Each child had their own special party that they were able to enjoy together!

Due to allergies, the entire menu (including the cupcakes) was peanut and egg free. Guests savored cannon popcorn balls, fairy Godmother fruit wands, chocolate covered strawberries, vanilla cake pops, and chocolate covered Oreos disguised as treasure maps. Water bottles were decorated with personalized labels and paper straws. Small guests also sipped on a child friendly grog and pink princess lemonade, while the adults enjoyed a poisonous princess punch (a yummy concoction made by my wonderful co-host).

The little pirates and princesses in attendance left with boxes filled with with treasure maps, stickers, notebooks, mini telescopes, foam princess crowns, glow in the dark wands, chocolate booty, and candy necklaces/bracelets.
