Party Recap
My son has been wanting a Pirate Party for his 5th birthday for almost a year now. This was his first birthday in our new house and I really wanted to make it special for him. Luckily for me, his birthday is close enough to Halloween that there were many pirate themed decorations and costumes already in stores. We had a dress up station set up with all sorts of pirate gear , eye patches, hooks, hats, etc., when the kids came in. I had some large boxes from some furniture I recently purchased and was able to make a cardboard ship and other decor items to help out with the theme. The cardboard ship was a hit with the boys. We also "dug for treasure" and made the kids "walk the plank" . The little pirates also went on a treasure hunt to find the hidden treasure chest with goodie bags inside. It was a great day!
