Pirate Halloween

Our pirate Halloween party was a blast for kids and adults alike. The main focus was the pirate ship skeleton decorated with black sails and bunting. We also dressed our large burlap elephant to look like a pirate wench!
Other decorative details were a vintage pirate ship at the bar, and burlap netting on the walls. For the kids table, we created pirate inspired bucket seating with red and black fabric and netting. No pirate party would be complete without treasure, so we filled a vintage trunk with a variety of candy.
We also included a costume contest and chili cook-off. We took photos of each guest as they arrived, then printed and displayed the photos on a board with a pirate ship box for everyone to place their vote for their favorite adult costume and their favorite kid costume. The adult prize was a bottle of rum!
For the chili cook-off, we placed a ballot box by the chili buffet. We awarded the winner with a bottle of hot sauce, a handmade ribbon and a spatula.
