Party Recap
This was my "first big event". I didn't have pintrest then, either so I had no inspiration and the party was, I'll admit, a little bland. I did what I could so please bare with me on this one lol. The theme came about...I really wanted to do something cute for his 1st birthday. Its his only 1st one ever. And you think when they have their first to do it something that YOU want because you'll never get that chance again...well just as I started to plan a sock monkey party..he got into sesame street & elmo. So onto planning I went! And found out, that was also my first party theme as well, Sesame Street! Very sweet and touching I though, but then I found they had the babies, and I was all for it! : )
Party Highlights
-
Best Moment
My favorite moment was after the party, with the balloons, my husband and his parents were letting them go into the sky, you had to be there to witness it, it was almost magical.
-
Funniest Moment
My son had turned 1 year old, but he couldn't walk yet. He crawled, but on his hind legs, he come crawling to all of us at the party and he looked like a monkey honestly lol, it was hilarious everyone got a kick out of it!!
-
Most Touching Moment
As always...Lighting that candle and listening to everyone singing happy birthday, thinking "A year ago today, I was in the hospital so excited to see my baby."
-
What People Ate
So, like for my baby shower, we didn't have much money to work with. My husband had a very low income job, and was only getting like 20 hours a week. My mom volunteered to make her egg salad, and a few sides (which I cant remember what they were) Which was delicious and everyone likes a good egg salad sandwich and if not, oh well.
