Party Recap

Ronelle Pienaar picked the Little Mermaid theme for our birthday girl Adail, because she was obsessed with the movie, castles, princesses and being in the water.

The party offered such visual details and a wide range of play. This party, like the others recently featured here on A Big Little Bash Facebook page is full of vibrant colors, delicious sweets and treats and all the elements of The Little Mermaid were used without taking away any of the upscale vibe.

We had the pleasure of creating this Little Mermaid-inspired Candy Station and table centerpieces for gorgeous Adail who turned 6. Adail’s mom is full of creativity and ideas! She wanted the table to be colorful, sweet, and girly, and we decided on pink, purple, and aqua palette. The bowls we used as centerpieces on the kids table with live fish was the talk of the town.

The beautiful 3D Cupcakes and Marshmallow pops were ordered from Laura Templeton Cake Designs. We had these glamorous white cupcakes with pretty mermaid fondant tails. Wow it was the most beautiful creations I had ever seen. This was, quite simply, the single best cupcake I've had in my entire life.

More detail was added to our Candy Station. Meringue creations were made in the form of Sea shells, Candy floss meringue nests and Coral by Cecilia Coetzee from Sugar & Eggs. Wow this was amazing and a hit on the Candy Station.

Every princess needs a castle and a bouncy house was a huge hit that is perfect to keep the little party guests busy. For activities all the kids decorated their own Treasure Chests designed by Our Party Nest at the craft table. The girls also got crafting by painting beautiful seashells handmade by Janine from A Big Little Bash.

The adult guests were treated with the most amazing variety of cheese platters, selection of breads and biscuits, pates, different flavoured dips, cocktail sausages, salami selection, variety of pickles, olives and so much more. What a feast they had.

What girl wouldn't love to run around at their birthday party eating themed cupcakes, wearing a pretty tutu and pretending she was a beautiful mermaid? For the girl that loves to play dress up and use her imagination, this theme party idea would be the perfect way to celebrate her birthday.
