Party Recap

Friends and family were invited to sit, stay, and play to celebrate Pierce’s second birthday!
As with most birthday party themes, the ideas are chosen because they are special to the birthday child. Such was the case with a Puppy Dog party theme for this two-year-old little boy.
The party was styled with bright red, yellow, blue, and green.
The front porch of the home featured a dog house bearing the name of the birthday boy’s favorite dog, “Puppy.” A pretend puppy poked his head out of the dog house door, as if to checkout his dog bowl complete with a bone! Balloons and party flags were festive and colorful!
A Welcome to the Pawty sign hung on the front door.
The mantle was decorated with a “Happy Birthday” bunting banner with paw print and dog bone patterns. Colorful plastic balls were arranged along with a personalized pawty flying disc.
The real dogs of the extended family members were “represented” at the party by the many four footed pups decorating the tables. Each of the doggies had special tags which read “Happy Birthday From: _____” and the blanks were filled in with the names of the family dogs!
Other table decorations on the artificial turf included greenery filled vases with small party circle centerpieces and paw print table confetti. Party flags hung strategically from overhead lighting!
Wrapped cutlery with party napkin rings were served up in a colorful dog bowl. A tent style sign by the napkins was a reminder to “Wipe your paws!”
A bunting banner with Pierce’s name provided the backdrop for the seat for the guest of honor.
The high chair was adorned with an “I am 2” party flags, as well as an adorable puppy dog placement.
Puppy Dogs and Little Boys. . . the perfect party plan!

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

A sign “Dog Park! No Cats Allowed!” hung over the lunch buffet. A variety of party food was arranged around the red fire hydrant centerpiece. Guests dined on boiled shrimp, party sandwiches, chicken tenders, hummus, pita bread, potato salad, green salad, raw vegetables, fresh fruit, chips, and dip.

  • What People Drank

Soft drinks were sipped through colorful straws with straw flag accents. “Bow Wow Water” bottles were personalized with colorful puppy dog birthday party images. Coffee was also served.

  • Desserts

The Dessert station included lots of fun party themed sweets and treats including: Fido’s Fruit, Fetch Sticks (dipped pretzel rods), Pound Puppy Bones (iced cookies), Puppy Chow (chocolate puff cereal), and Pupcorn (kettle corn popcorn). Colorful Catch and Fetch Balls (cake balls) were served on a cake platter with green crinkle paper accents. Pupcakes (cupcakes) were trimmed with party themed cupcake toppers with images of a puppy dog, paw print, the number “2,” and Happy Birthday. The birthday boy’s cupcake was served in a special dog bowl and included dog bone cookies as a treat! He had a “Happy Birthday” cupcake topper and two candles to make it complete!

  • Party Favors

Party favors (dog bone cookies) were displayed in a clear acrylic container filled with brown crinkle paper. The large party circle stick-up directed guests to “Dig For Bones.” Favor tags read “Thank you for coming to my Pawty! Love Pierce” and were tied with ribbon around the bags of bone cookies!

  • Activities / Games

Children enjoyed playing with Puppy Dog color and play activity boards, washable markers, and stickers.
