Party Recap

The theme is Rapunzel..Rapunzel.. let your hair down. I wanted to make sure this was a hair oriented party. The decorations were to be hair oriented as well . So I got hundreds of yards of ribbon and weaved them into tablecloths to represent Rapunzel's hair. I also made a tower out of my glorified fire escape. I decorated it with a stone door, stonewall, wisteria, and 8 yards of gold charmeuse. No plastic table roll here! I also recreated the throne room at the begin of the movie. I had two twenty foot purple felt covered tables with gold suns in the middle. On top of the tables were purple and gold goblets and swords for the boys with knights helmets.Oh and we lit five tea candle lanterns for my daughters 5th birthday. I wanted to light five sky lanterns but, my husband started freaking out after we lit the first one and forbid it. So I gave the rest of those away as party favors as well. Someone should get to enjoy them.

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

My husband wanted to make hotdogs but i told him "This is a princess party. Fu-fu it up!" So he made over 100 sliders of pulled pork , steak, and hamburger on king Hawaiian rolls.

  • What People Drank

We had magical golden flower punch and Hazelnut chocolate milk which went over real good with the knights. Unfortunately their parents thought they were gonna die without soda. I was like this is a kids party and my daughter isn't allowed to drink soda. It will give you kidney failure when you old anyway.

  • Desserts

Braided apple strudel of course. I had to continue with more Rapunzel hair references.

  • Party Favors

I made silk daisy flower covered bobby pins for all the girls. I even went to the swapmeet to purchase some jumbo braid. I know everyone does yarn, but I wanted the hair extensions to look real and for the girls to really feel like Rapunzel. So I braided the girls hair with the jumbo braid hair extensions. I gave away compact mirrors with brushes and real wood yellow gold ribbon wands. For the boys I got swords and knights helmets with yellow feathers on top.
